Aloe mawii Christian (1940)

DESCRIPTION: Plants with stem (mostly pendulous or decumbent) up to 2 m long and 12 cm thick. Leaves 20, up to 60x10 cm dull green or grey green, sometimes striate. Teeth 4 mm long, 7-15 mm apart. Inflorescence 1 m tall, simple, raceme oblique or horizontal, ca 30 cm long, densely flowered. Perianth red or orange. Stamens with purple filaments and orange anthers.
DISTRIBUTION: Malawi, southern Tanzania, Mozambique.
CULTIVATION: Not common, rare.
