Aloe falcata Baker (1880)

DESCRIPTION: stemless, leaves up to 20, 30x7 cm, greygreen, rough with few black spines in a keel, sharp deltoid teeth 5 mm long, 10 mm apart. Racemes cylindrical, 35 cm long, up to 10 branches. Perianth red.
DISTRIBUTION: RSA, Calvinia district.
CULTIVATION: Not common, but easy growing. A. falcata is close related A. claviflora, but differs noticeably in its erect and branched inflorescence, laxly flowered racemes and straight perianths.
