Aloe comptonii Reynolds (1950)

DESCRIPTION: plant stemless or with stem up to 1 m, solitary or in small groups. Leaves about 20, erect, broadly lanceolate, 30x9 cm, glaucous green, sometimes with reddish tinge, teeth 3 mm long, sap deep orange. Inflorescence 1 m with 8 branches. Aloe comptonii is closely related to A. perfoliata (mitriformis) and A. distans.
DISTRIBUTION: RSA (W Cape), NW from Uniondale
CULTIVATION: Very rare and difficult to grow .
