Aloe aculeata Pole-Evans (1915)

DESCRIPTION: Stemless or with short stem, solitary plant. Leaves 25-30, erect, lanceolate, 30-60x8-x14 cm greyish green or vivid green with dark prickles on both surfaces. Pungent dark brown teeth, 5-6 mm long, 10-20 mm apart. Influorescence 100 cm tall, cylindrical racemes 20-50 cm long. Very close are A. marlothii and A. ferox. In juvenile stage it is almost impossible to distinguist these three taxa.
DISTRIBUTION: RSA (Northern prov.), Zimbabwe, Botswana
CULTIVATION: Very attractive and easy cultivated in sandy, porous and mineral soil.
